Ministry at the Dwight Carr Bible Institute

We'd like to start by praising our Good and Faithful Lord for His provision and also for allowing us to celebrate a wonderful time of graduation. On January 29th a cycle of our 2-year program, Bible and Leadership, came to an end with a wonderful graduating class of 13 students from different churches. Each of these graduates will serve in the various ministries of their local churches. In this graduating class 6 of the students were from our Saturday courses, and the other 7 students were from our satellite program located in Achuapa Leon.
Jenser Jehudi Najares Chavarria, a son of one of our BMDMI pastors, was among the graduating students. He is a great example of what our Lord does through the service of faithful Christians in our local churches. Jenser grew up in our Sunday school classes in Achuapa. Every Sunday he heard the Word shared by his mother and other teachers at the church. In Jenser’s years growing up, his father, Pastor Harold, took seriously his role as a dad, a mentor, and a Bible teacher. Jenser learned from his dad through their discipleship time together, and eventually felt God call him to ministry as well. Jenser felt led to study the Word so that he could also preach and disciple other people. Jenser has since been given the opportunity to visit several of our churches where our pastors allowed him to share the Gospel. He is doing an excellent ministry.
Enmanuel is another student of our graduating class and is a member of the BMDMI church in Israel Chinandega. Enmanuel has a learning heart and a passion to share the Gospel and serve in ministry. He has been under the leadership of pastor Santos Palacios, the senior pastor in Israel and a Bible Institute teacher at our satellite campus. Enmanuel is very enthusiastic when it comes to going door to door and telling people about Jesus; even in his young age he is expressing that God is calling him to serve.
As an educational institution, we are so happy to see how God is still calling people to his service, and that we can help these future pastors and leaders with their education.
This year we have students in either their first or second year of Saturday courses, students in Matagalpa and Chinandega via our satellite’s classes, and students finishing their second year of the Bible and Leadership program in Achuapa.
We are also looking forward to helping our local churches with training in evangelism, discipleship, and Sunday school classes. We will also be helping churches develop their youth and men’s programs.
The Bible Institute will continue hosting its conference program this year. Every 3 months, the Bible Institute hosts this event for pastors and church members so that they can learn from people who are well-educated in various areas of ministry. This ministry has been very productive for our BMDMI churches.
As BMDMI Nicaragua, we also want to praise our Lord and Savior for what He has done these years. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis we have not had as many teams as we hace had in the past. However, this situation did not stop our pastors, churches and staff to continue ministering to our people here in Nicaragua.
Thanks to many prayer warriors and great supporters, we were able to serve in many different areas. We had teams of locals doing evangelism door to door, our children participated in VBS classes at their local churches. We also share with the people in every community our Evangelism team went to. We hold the Gospel as our first priority, but thanks to wonderful donors every home also received food and medication.
Another activity that came out of having fewer teams was that our staff member Arlen and our church leadership have begun to work more closely with the children. The VBS program they have developed came as a result of our time with Covid. At the Tabernacle AMEN mission churches, where Hermana Aurora Castillo is a member, were supposed to do the “Concrete and Cranes” theme for their churches. Since the covid time started they were not able to do it and we were blessed by them when Arlen received some of the posters and materials that they were going to use. Thanks to our Lord, those churches who received the VBS program have grown in their children ministry, not only by number, but our teachers and Kids are now encouraged and bringing more kids.
Another great time with the little resources we had was to see Mount of Olive church leading a youth camp this last year, where 180 young people from our different churches came, not only to hear the Word but to be challenged to grow in the Lord and also try to reach their age group for the Lord.
We also praise the Lord for the group from El Madroño, Iglesia Peniel who have been leading a movement towards men who are struggling with addiction.
We are looking for ways to deploy small medical teams led by nationals, because our agreement with the government in Nicaragua asks us to serve with medical and dental teams, but the way we are trying to serve this time is with a hybrid team. Serving in the morning with medical attention in the places we see a need and in the afternoon going out and doing door to door evangelism. The plan is also to continue with the evangelism team as well, asking the local church to take the responsibility to lead our volunteers who will come and serve in sharing the Gospel, teaching discipleship classes and serving the needs of the poor. If there is anybody also willing to help and serve with the children ministry we welcome them to do it.
     Pray for us:
  • Our pastors and churches. ( for encouragement, opportunities to share the Word and disciple people, for protection and provision for their families)
  • Our staff. (we need health, provision for their families, encouragement and protection)
  • Our B.I ( we need more supporter getting involved in sponsoring a student or supporting a construction or paint project, because our facilities needs now some maintenance)
  • Please pray for God to give us Grace as we continue sharing the Gospel and doing discipleship.
  • Please pray for God to touch people's hearts in the USA, so they can come back to Nicaragua and serve with us.
